Biochar Alone Did Not Increase Microbial Activity in Soils from a Temperate Climate That Had Long-Term Acidity Stress

چکیده
Biochar can increase the microbial activity of a soil and seed yield oilseed rape. We performed field experiment to determine effect different doses biochar impact nutrient additions on in soils with low pH (4.69). Different were applied plots 2016 (0 t/ha (control), 15 (B15), 30 (B30), or 45 (B45)), fertilization was during 2019 (90 kg P/ha) 2020 (50 N/ha, 80 P/ha, 50 K/ha). Maize grown 2016, barley 2017, maize 2018, wheat 2019, winter rape 2020. All analyses carried out Higher led reduced inhibition (cumulative respiration, dehydrogenase (DHA), leaching mineral forms nitrogen). Notably, more than 60% lower highest dose. increased compared control (control: 4.51 ± 0.04, B15: 4.69 B30: 5.06 0.05, B45: 5.05 0.04) but did not Thus, application alone activities, although it pH.

Long-term forest soil warming alters microbial communities in temperate forest soils
Soil microbes are major drivers of soil carbon cycling, yet we lack an understanding of how climate warming will affect microbial communities. Three ongoing field studies at the Harvard Forest Long-term Ecological Research (LTER) site (Petersham, MA) have warmed soils 5°C above ambient temperatures for 5, 8, and 20 years. We used this chronosequence to test the hypothesis that soil microbial co...

Microcalorimetry, plate count and PCR-denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis (DGGE) were employed to investigate microbial diversity and activity in soils from the Red Soil Experimental Station of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Hunan Province, China, where a wheat-corn rotation with 12 fertilization treatments was established in 1990. Fertilization greatly increased microbial bi...
متن کاملBiochar and nitrogen fertilizer alters soil nitrogen dynamics and greenhouse gas fluxes from two temperate soils.
Biochar (BC) application to agricultural soils could potentially sequester recalcitrant C, increase N retention, increase water holding capacity, and decrease greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Biochar addition to soils can alter soil N cycling and in some cases decrease extractable mineral N (NO and NH) and NO emissions. These benefits are not uniformly observed across varying soil types, N ferti...
